Rather old. But of course it was built during the ol' Red days
(pictured, Line 2, which runs along the 2nd Ring Road).
The subway is currently being expanded for the 2008 Olympics.
Actually, this subway sort of reminded me of the Moscow subway (although I've never been to Russia), and the "culture" of
it sort of reminded me of the old Tokyo subways. for some reason, I liked the Beijing subway more than Shenzhen's or Shanghai's.
Probably because, although old, it was clean and people were relatively orderly.
A cultured and artistocratic city indeed.
